Two Hoots is a self catering holiday cottage, nestled on the edge of the village of Goathland, right beside St.Mary's church, and only yards away from open countryside. It is an ideal base for exploring Goathland, with it's walks and waterfalls, or for venturing further afield. Whitby, Pickering, Scarborough and York are all within very easy reach. Eden Camp, Castle Howard and Flamingoland are no more than half an hour away.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Goathland has it's own railway station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where steam trains run regularly most of the year, and up to one an hour in the summer. You can board the train in Goathland and travel the whole of the line between Whitby and Pickering. Goathland station has taken on two different names in the last few years. It is the setting of Hogsmeade station in the Harry Potter movies, but is probably better known as Aidensfield station in the YTV series Heartbeat.

The fishing port of Whitby, with it's Dracula and Captain Cook connections, is just 7 miles away.

Heartbeat

Since 1992, Goathland has been better known as Aidensfield, in the YTV series Heartbeat. In 2008, some 330 episodes later, Heartbeat is still filmed in the village, and although there have been many changes in the cast members, the programme still attracts a very large audience world wide.
